Andrew is a fourth-generation grazier at Ruby Hills following his forefathers Jimmy, Arthur and Brian. The celebration of 100 years on Ruby Hills was published in The Land in January 1996 – see article in Ruby Hills history.

Andrew was educated at the Australian National University in law and political science, but returned to the property to continue its legacy. Andrew has two sons at university in the United States and two daughters at Ruby Hills with Carol.

Andrew is a graduate of the Grazing for Profit course conducted by Resource Consulting Services (now Principal Focus) and together with Carol is a member of an Edge Management board to up-skill in farm business management.
